For example, to use Command-C (copy), press and hold the Command key, then the C key, then release both keys. Mac menus and keyboards often use&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/support.apple.com\/guide\/mac-help\/what-are-those-symbols-shown-in-menus-cpmh0011\">symbols for certain keys<\/a>, including modifier keys:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Command (or Cmd) \u2318<\/li><li>Shift \u21e7<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Option (or Alt) \u2325<\/li><li>Control (or Ctrl) \u2303<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Caps Lock \u21ea<\/li><li>Fn<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><br>On keyboards made for Windows PCs, use the Alt key instead of Option, and the Windows logo key instead of Command.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/support.apple.com\/library\/content\/dam\/edam\/applecare\/images\/en_US\/il\/keyboard-icon-increase-display-brightness.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/support.apple.com\/library\/content\/dam\/edam\/applecare\/images\/en_US\/il\/keyboard-icon-increase-keyboard-brightness.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Some keys on some Apple keyboards have special symbols and functions, such as for display brightness&nbsp;, keyboard brightness&nbsp;, Mission Control, and more.
